Charities and Fashion!

Fashion isn’t just fabric, glamour and making people look great, but it can also be an influence tool. Anyone can use the worlds love for fashion as a way to support a good cause. Many Actors, Athletes and moguls have fashion lines, or labels and many use some of the proceeds to go to their favorite charities. In January of 2008, many singers and musicians came together to Raise Aids awareness, along with H&M and the Designers against Aids and created a line of t-shirts called Fashion against Aids,The shirts where made of 100% certified organic cotton, and each piece carried a tag that read, “This might be the most important piece of clothing you’ve ever had your hands on.” Celebrities included Rihanna, Timbaland, and Good Charlotte, who all participated for free, and portions of each purchase will benefit various HIV/AIDS charities around the world. Now we may have missed out on this event but that shouldn’t stop us from creating more events like this. When people come together to support a cause good things can happen. No matter how big or small your idea is you should support it. Something that may start in your small neighborhood could possibly become a nationwide event. Maybe even global! Visit: charities.org to find a list of charities you can support in your area.
