They say Black is Back, But When Was it Ever Gone!

This Majestic women was born May 17 1976 in Somalia and moved to Toronto, Canada when she was fifteen years old. Her modeling career began in 2000, when she was in her early 20', after landing a booking for Sears catalog, Warsame was also 5 months pregnant with her son Hamzah at the time. She continued working in Canada for 2 years. Soon her look was considered to "Haute Couture" for the local scene and work became slow forcing Warsame to move to Paris in the summer of 2002 where she received her big break been featured in Vogue Italian, and photographed by Steven Meisel. She has since walked the runway for L.A.M.B, Jeanne Lanvin, Jean-Paul Gaultier, John Galliano, Oscar De La Renta and Dolce and Gabbana to name a few.


Alek Wek


Born in the Southern Sudan on April 19th 1977. The civil War forced her to move to  London with her younger sister in 1991. There she learned to speak English and began studying fashion at The London College of Fashion. Wek was discovered at a London Shopping Center by fashion agents in 1995 at the age of 18, a year later she began modeling for the Ford agency n Paris, followed by Milian and New York. In 1997 she appeared on the cover of Elle magazine. At that time, the magazine felt they where taking a chance by putting Wek on the cover. However, Wek's career in modeling has since named her "Model of the decade" by Trend-setting Magazine and landed her on People's magazine's "50 most Beautiful People" list in 1999. She has walk the runways of  Calvin Klein, Victoria's Secret, Valentino, Fendi, Gucci, Vivienne Westwood, and Chanel. And in 2002, she was considered to be one of the most expensive Top models in the world next to, Heidi Klum, Carmen Klass and Gisele Bundchen.
